With expansive views over Platbos Forest and the Uilenskraal Valley, Klawerjas Cottage is the perfect destination for a rejuvenating stay in the country side.
Set in the heart of the Southern Overberg in the Western Cape, the cottage is located within the world famous Cape Floral Kingdom and has sweeping views over the leafy canopy of Platbos Forest. This ancient and unique indigenous forest is just a minute´s walk from the cottage.
Originally built as a labourer´s cottage, Klawerjas has been carefully restored and tastefully furnished. The atmosphere is light, airy and inviting. An undercover front stoep, in addition to the braai area, ensure that whatever the weather, you will be able to enjoy the views of the valley and surrounding forest. A wood-burning stove in the open plan kitchen-cum-sitting room will keep you cozy should you visit during the winter months - the best time of the year to enjoy whale watching from the De Kelders coast line.
Klawerjas Cottage is set on 40 hectares of fynbos with many different species of Proteas, Ericas, and Restio Grasses. There are four red data species found on the farm and guests are welcome to walk the old, disused flower-picker road that twists over the hillside ridges behind the farm. Still to be "discovered" for the gem that it is, this area of the Overberg offers a wide range of activities and sights for Nature lovers to enjoy. What a luxury it is to find, that more often than not, the landscapes are yours alone to revel in!
Off the beaten track and yet just minutes from Gansbaai (15 minute drive), Stanford (20 minute drive) and Hermanus (35 minute drive), you can enjoy the best that both worlds have to offer.

Accommodation Rates and Specifications:
Klawerjas Guest Cottage is a fully-equipped, self-catering guest cottage that sleeps a maximum of 6 guests.
There are 3 bedrooms. Two with double beds and one with a bunk bed and baby cot.
Rates: R500.00 per night to a maximum of 4 persons. Thereafter R100.00 per person to a maximum of 6 persons. A 50% deposit ensures your reservation.
Linen and bath towels are provided; please pack your own swimming towels.
